Description

Transport infrastructure such as highways are important corridors for the spread of invasive species. In this project, an automated detection and mapping of two invasive alien plant species was developed and applied along highways in the Swiss Central Plateau, based on artificial intelligence (AI, Deep Learning). The two target species are tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima) and narrow-leaved ragwort (Senecio inaequidens). The data is part of the project report and shows the mapping results in interactive maps. Technically speaking, these are self-contained HTML files that can be displayed with standard web browsers. To reduce the file size, the downloads are provided in zip format.
