Description
The inventory of quaking bogs in Switzerland contains discovered primary quaking bogs of a specific minimum size with transition and raised bog characteristics (83 bogs). This inventory is an improved version of the inventory of raised bogs, transition mires and fens and takes better account of the smallest quaking bogs. Quaking bogs are composed of a floating mat of thickly woven peat that is saturated with water and shakes when walked on. The objects are generated by the data base by entering their centre coordinates (geographical coordinates).
