Key figures for alternatively powered passenger cars

Description

On the basis of the anonymised data for new registrations published by FEDRO, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy has evaluated key figures on alternatively powered passenger cars since 2015. Alternatively powered vehicles are vehicles that are not solely powered by a petrol or diesel internal combustion engine. This data set shows the number of alternatively powered passenger cars by type of drive per canton. The data is reported as annual totals (2015-current) as well as quarterly totals (2015-2020) and monthly totals (2021-current).

Key: t1 = Average CO2 emissions, t2 = Number of BEVs, t3 = Number of petrol PHEVs, t4 = Number of diesel PHEVs, t5 = Number of hybrid petrol, t6 = Number of hybrid diesel, t7 = Number of natural gas, t8 = Number of new registrations, t10 = Number of hydrogen

Numbering of cantons according to FSO

Quarter 1-4 = Q1-Q4, Quarter 5 = Annual total Month 1-12 = January-February, Month 13 = Annual total

The annual total may differ slightly from the cumulative monthly or quarterly totals due to retroactive adjustments in the data source used.
